It has always been one of my favorites, so I was definitely going to continue to try before our three months were up.
It was a disaster. The “waiters” are now in jeans and inexperienced.
We started with a drink at the bar, my favorite place to be. I ordered a scotch on the rocks. It came...very cloudy and little bugs floating. She didn’t even notice. I asked her to leave that drink while she replaced it, so she wouldn’t take out the bugs. She was offended and said she would never do that, but she served it to me! I have been drinking scotch for a long time and I know it’s not cloudy and buggy!
My filet was ordered medium rare and came well done. My husbands $8 side of potato casserole was ice cold. We told our waitress and we never saw her again. The place was nearly empty and now I understand why.
Such a great old beautiful establishment. So sad.
We have never minded paying those exorbitant prices...the servers use to be impeccable and experienced. The food was always perfect.

It was BEYOND all expectations!! The server was knowledgeable, super efficient and charming. The atmosphere- well how can you top sunset on the upper deck of a stunning old mansion? And the food - THE BEST!!! We enjoyed a lobster curry and a Delmonico steak. Both were simply perfect. For appetizers the raw trio was sumptuous. And for dessert, because we were in the Keys, key lime tarts! This was a top 10 meal for me, EVER! I can’t recall the last time I enjoyed a meal that much. read less - 3/19/2020

Great obstacles, use of terrain and fun & interesting course. I enjoyed it immensely. However, I highly recommend having a separate, timed competitive wave that's eligible for awards or simple bragging rights (as most races do) to ensure your placements of top racers are accurate & all obstacles were indeed completed in the finish time recorded. This keeps race conditions comparable for competitve racers & lends confidence that top runners indeed came in ahead of participants in a later waves when bottlenecks start happening tempting people may skip obstacles etc. and thus "finish faster." It keeps it a more fair playing field - apples to apples, not apples to oranges. read less - 8/26/2014
