- Get Swept Away To Something Exotic One of the things I like about Pierre's is the atmosphere. The decor alone sweeps you away to another continent with their heavy wooden doors and wooden frame accents, imported from what looks like Bali.
Reservations are a must if you want to experience the full menu but there is plenty of seating in the bar with a limited menu that is delightful.
For this trip, we sat upstairs in the formal dining room at a small table for two. The balcony offers outside dining but being that we live in Florida year round, the cool temps inside were much more appealing. I had the Florida Lobster Curry which was a feast for the eyes, although being a total curry lover, it could have used some extra sauce. For dessert, I had the creme brûlée which if I could have licked the bowl, I would have.
My husband had the Grilled Octopus App which for me was a bit undercooked. I have a preference for charred however he enjoyed it immensely. Note that they do not advertise that there is pork in the recipe. For his entree, he enjoyed the Truffle Vegetable Gnocchi which was heavenly. A delicious vegetarian option with pops of crunch from fresh corn. Dessert was the Key Lime Pie.
Now for service. It was flat out weird. Our waiter never introduced himself to us, had this odd habit of wearing his personalized mask to walk to and from our table but as soon as he got to the table, would pop the mask off and talk. He also didn't ask if we wanted a cocktail while we perused the menu. He was efficient but that is about all that he gets.
In essence, go for the atmosphere, the food and the unusual blends of cocktails but let go of any expectation on service.read moreread lessYvette S5/22/2023Service, location and excellent food....the triple threat! This my 4th visit to Pierre's over about as many years. We occasionally spend a long weekend in the Upper Keys, from Miami. We have had consistently good food each time and the setting is beautiful, located on a little inlet/ bay with sand. It is more elegant than the setting suggest and is perfect for a romantic night or a solid good quality meal. This time we visited while on Memorial Day weekend. I started with the octopus and it was solid, not gooey and had an almost crispy texture. I followed with the duck, which was rich and cooked perfectly. My wife had the Chilean Sea bass over a puree of artichoke, which was the special...and special it was. The fish was fresh and meaty, but delicate in flavor and the puree was indescribably subtle and perfect texture. We also tasted the escargot in a voulevant pastry which was as flaky and decadent as the escargot were rich and tasty. The shrimp was good as well, not overdone, as can be the case. The dessert selection which we sampled included the key lime tart, creamy but light in a thick flavorful graham cracker crust, a dulce de leche cheese cake, also very rich, but not too sweet, and the creme brulee which was the best of the three with a smooth delicious pudding covered with a crispy brittle caramel crust. We did take our own wine, and the corkage fee was quite steep, especially for the Keys ($50). But, I saved the best comments for the last. Our server, Ellen Grace, was attentive and on top of every detail. She knew each dish down to the smallest detail, at one point going back to the kitchen to inquire about the pastry because she wanted/needed to get it right. Such professionalism in a server is hard to find and a mark of an excellent restaurant and its attention to detail. We will return again and look for Ellen Grace for another amazing dining experience.read moreread less161juancarlosv5/31/2021Stunning. Wow. Outstanding in all aspects. First, the setting is incredible. Amazing sunset views and beautiful restaurant. Food was outstanding. Tried hogfish for the first time. Service was very good, which is hard to come by these days. Not inexpensive, but worth it. A few tips- we got there before six and had a drink at the bar before dinner during happy hour, which offers reduced prices. Pierre's has chairs out on the beach so you can grab a drink and watch the sunset if you don't have an outdoor finner table.read moreread lessisland1395/03/2023 - Awesome place We knew it would be pricey, but it was our 50th anniversary. Our evening was well worth it. Escargot was clearly the best we’ve ever had. Same for the Key Lime dessert. I had scallops; again, perfectly prepared.
All the staff was personable and well trained. Congratulations to the owners who put this all together.
CHread moreread lessLuluBellethedog6/21/2021We enjoyed Pierre's on 2 nights. 1st visit was to the bar on the lower level which is beautifully appointed. The guys stayed inside and the girls went outside on the veranda to watch the sunset. Pierre makes a mean cocktail. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for dinner and sat at a table outside on the upper veranda. The hotel is decorated in a West Indies style - it is very comfortable. Service was attentive and the manager came and checked on our meal. We had the bone in filet mignon and the lobster curry. There was nothing left by the end of the meal. Dress code is a bit all over the map but I was comfortable wearing palazzo pants and Joe had a dressy Hawaiian shirt with slacks.read moreread lessDeb S5/22/2018This place, simply put, wowed us from start to finish. We were disappointed to find that Pierre's was closed during our visit (though we had made a reservation) and that a pop up bistro was in it's place temporarily. The manger was overly accommodating, gave us the best seat in the house and our service was impeccable. We had SUCH a great night for our 10th anniversary. Couldn't suggest this place more.read moreread lessLindsay R10/24/2018 - Excellent Food and atmosphere Excellent Food and atmosphere at Pierre's. Service was outstanding with a beautiful sunset view. We sat on the porch to watch the beautiful setting. We choose drinks from an intriguing cocktail and wine list. The bar menu was also included in the menu. It sounded very good and if we visit Islamorada again, we will definitely try it.
Our dinner in the main restaurant was very good, we had a table outside on the porch. The prices were a bit steep however. Stone Crab is our favorite and although it was excellent, it was quite a bit more than other restaurants we visited.

The only thing that could have made it better would be a concert with Luke Bryan or Eric Church afterwards! This is such a great spot for a special or romantic night. We enjoyed the outside area on the beach for some pre dinner drinks while soaking up the atmosphere. The view was a bit overcast, but on a clear night, the sunset is usually spectacular.
We made these reservations last minute, so we ended up sitting at a table inside. The interior decor and ambiance inside is beautiful. But next time, we will plan ahead and request outdoor seating on the second floor balcony. Especially for sunset.
Our dining adventure began with the Escargot Voulevant 22, which I must say was the best escargot I’ve ever had. And I love escargot! For our entree, we shared the juicy Tomahawk, a special from Chef Pierre. This literally melts in your mouth, it’s hard to describe, but was to die for. Nice to pair with a red

The menu selection was diverse and the atmosphere was perfect for a sunset dinner. We tried it based on the recommendation from our couple's massage therapists. We'll summarize the night a bit. We arrived late and they were very helpful trying to accommodate us. The service provided by each one of the staff was outstanding.
They have a brilliant collection of cigars at the entrance.
Our server was Sandra, and we loved how helpful she was and patient with our requests.
Food exquisite. Wagyu is a little bit expensive in my experience but worth the money.
The oysters from the west coast are sublime and super tasty.
