Get Swept Away To Something Exotic One of the things I like about Pierre's is the atmosphere. The decor alone sweeps you away to another continent with their heavy wooden doors and wooden frame accents, imported from what looks like Bali.
Reservations are a must if you want to experience the full menu but there is plenty of seating in the bar with a limited menu that is delightful.
For this trip, we sat upstairs in the formal dining room at a small table for two. The balcony offers outside dining but being that we live in Florida year round, the cool temps inside were much more appealing. I had the Florida Lobster Curry which was a feast for the eyes, although being a total curry lover, it could have used some extra sauce. For dessert, I had the creme brûlée which if I could have licked the bowl, I would have.
My husband had the Grilled Octopus App which for me was a bit undercooked. I have a preference for charred however he enjoyed it immensely. Note that they do not advertise that there is pork in the recipe. For his entree, he enjoyed the Truffle Vegetable Gnocchi which was heavenly. A delicious vegetarian option with pops of crunch from fresh corn. Dessert was the Key Lime Pie.
Now for service. It was flat out weird. Our waiter never introduced himself to us, had this odd habit of wearing his personalized mask to walk to and from our table but as soon as he got to the table, would pop the mask off and talk. He also didn't ask if we wanted a cocktail while we perused the menu. He was efficient but that is about all that he gets.
In essence, go for the atmosphere, the food and the unusual blends of cocktails but let go of any expectation on service.
