There is a gorgeous private beach area and veranda where you can enjoy a cocktail outside and we scored a table on the outside veranda at sunset,
Aside from the chill music, gorgeous setting, and professional staff, the food was out of this world.
My husband had the fish meunière if the day which happened to be grouped. He opted to add the crab leg and they take it out of the leg for you,
I had the vegan cauliflower dish with succotash and it was amazing!
The grilled octopus appetizer was equally terrific.
We decided to finish our wine in the Veranda which was no problem, I could have stayed all evening sitting there looking at the water,

We enjoyed the outside... read moreOn the last night of our trip, we went to Pierre’s restaurant at @moradabaykeys. This is such a great spot for a special or romantic night. We enjoyed the outside area on the beach for some pre dinner drinks while soaking up the atmosphere. The view was a bit overcast, but on a clear night, the sunset is usually spectacular.

We made these reservations last minute, so we ended up sitting at a table inside. The interior decor and ambiance inside is beautiful. But next time, we will plan ahead and request outdoor seating on the second floor balcony. Especially for sunset.

Our dining adventure began with the Escargot Voulevant 22, which I must say was the best escargot I’ve ever had. And I love escargot! For our entree, we shared the juicy Tomahawk, a special from Chef Pierre. This literally melts in your mouth, it’s hard to describe, but was to die for. Nice to pair with a red

The drinks were varied and sublime but soon it was time to move upstairs to the balcony for our dinner. The sun shades adjusted to keep the heat down, we settled in for one more cocktail, and a bottle of Shafer cab. The onion soup? Excellent and hot enough to make me forget the sun. The foie gras? My table mates raved. It's not pate, it's the actual liver so you're getting the real thing. If you're unfamiliar with sous vide cooking, learn how the experts do it by ordering the veal cheeks. Triple tail was on the menu so two of us ventured there to great acclaim. The place is expensive but they deliver value. As the sun set, the shades went up, the breeze came alive and the view through the palms made the setting perfect. I'm hard to impress. I was impressed. My only regret? The party of four celebrating a birthday at an adjacent table failed to offer us a slice of their cake even though we sang along. Oh, well. read less

The first night was with a reservation we made in advance and we were given a beautiful table overlooking the water on the upper veranda. The next night we wanted to go back but we didn’t have a reservation, so we tried our luck at finding a seat on the beach in front and eating from the bar menu. We were lucky and had a wonderful experience twice. I left one of my cherished jackets at the restaurant and didn’t realize it until we left Islamorada. One of the managers, Sandra, was kind enough to take the time to mail my jacket back to me even though it was one of the busiest times of the year for the restaurant. The pumpkin curry soup was some of the best soup I’ve ever had with such a unique flavor. The hot apple cobbler a la mode desert was simply scrumptious and so was the key lime tart. The traditional thanksgiving entree was ok, with the light fluffy stuffing being the highlight. The seafood entree option was perfectly prepared, but a pretty small piece of fish. Overall, a nice meal even for the $70 per person price on the holiday, except for the vegetarian option. I called in advance to inquire about their vegetarian gluten free options and they said they would have something to accommodate. Well, they served my daughter an entree with mashed potatoes and green beans (a subset of the traditional thanksgiving food), said it could be bottomless and still charged us $70. Seemed like a weak attempt on their part. We had a large group and they put us jn a nice table in the bar, as the upstairs is currently closed while they fix hurricane damage. Overall, a pleasant experience for the family and grateful for a nice thanksgiving meal while traveling. read less
